Traveling Superintendent – Hospitality Renovations

Prevail Recruiting is partnering with a rapidly growing commercial general contractor specializing in hotel renovations and brand conversions throughout the United States.

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to manage daily field operations on active hospitality renovation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-directed construction professional who enjoys traveling, taking ownership of projects, and working with nationally recognized hotel brands.

As Traveling Superintendent, you will oversee hotel renovation projects from mobilization through closeout. You will manage subcontractors, maintain schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and serve as the primary field representative with hotel ownership, management, and project stakeholders.

Many projects take place in occupied hotels, requiring strong communication, organization, and the ability to minimize disruption to guests and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations for hotel renovation and conversion projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and field personnel
• Maintain project schedules and ensure critical milestones are achieved
• Lead daily site meetings and communicate progress to project leadership
• Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety standards
• Perform quality-control inspections against plans, specifications, and brand standards
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
• Identify and resolve field issues before they affect the schedule or budget
• Coordinate inspections with local authorities
• Prepare accurate daily reports, progress photographs, manpower logs, and delay documentation
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
• Manage punch-list completion, final inspections, turnover, and project closeout
• Build productive relationships with hotel management, ownership, subcontractors, and brand representatives

Ideal Background

• 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience
• Hotel renovation, hospitality, restaurant, retail, or occupied-building experience
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple scopes of work simultaneously
• Strong understanding of schedules, drawings, specifications, safety, and quality control
• Experience working with major hotel brands is highly desirable
• Procore and Microsoft Office experience preferred
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of field operations
• Willingness and ability to travel nationwide on a full-time basis
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary up to $130,000, based on experience

Travel Requirements

This is a full-time traveling position, not a work-from-home role. Projects are located throughout the United States, and the selected Superintendent may live anywhere near a major airport.
